mikimoto (tactile debossing on exotic paper stocks)
The brand wanted to create a special offering for its top-tiered clientele. Working with our design team, we suggested certain paper stocks and finishing techniques that helped deliver a tactile message of beauty and quality. In the end, we chose a special metallic paper stock which was mounted to another specialty paper stock and then embossed with extreme pressure to create a 3 dimensional aesthetic, reminiscent of the jewelry itself. The piece was also foil stamped in several colors and mailed in a custom envelopment using the same paper stocks and finishing techniques. What is unique about this piece is its visa versa usage of the embossing plate.
